With the remaining banishing oil, go around your home/office/space and draw the Algiz rune symbol on your doors or doorframes. “Spirit of the water, please accept and wash away any remaining energy of (name of person or energy). Pour the salt into the nearest water source- streams, ponds, canals, or yes, even your toilet bowl will work! You can say one final blessing here: Remove whatever wax is left from the bowls and discard it. You don’t necessarily need to sit and watch the entire burn, but please never leave your candle unattended for safety reasons!) On the right is Algiz, a Norse rune for protection. On the left is Naudhiz, a Norse rune for banishment (roughly translates to throwing someone out into the snow). While it is most often used to banish one particular person, I think it can also be used to remove unwanted energies and bad habits. However, it is not the same as a “return to sender” spell, which I may write about in the near future.īanishing is a very old type of ritual, mentioned in dozens of different texts dating back thousands of years. ![]() Banishing is about you taking your power back and sending away that which may harm you or stand in your way. Just like cord-cutting, this is NOT an act of violence nor is it a hex. It’s important to know that banishing is a particular kind of energetic magic that removes a person or energy from your sphere. I’ve had a couple of requests for help with banishing, so let’s start there first. Many of you have greatly benefited from my cord-cutting ritual, so I thought I’d expand into sharing more rituals and spells in 2022! I’ve gathered a lot of inspiration from different traditions across the globe, but especially those of my own lineage (German and Scandinavian).
